Big news on the home front of a different kind...

Welp….

Buckle in for an interesting read, as usual, if you so choose

This one is quite a doozy and worth the 2 minutes of reading due to the irony in this post being absolutely outstanding….

You reach a point in life when you think things are on a certain trajectory…

A little backstory if I may…

A little under a year ago we started our business, investing our life savings into birthing this awesome concept and dedicating nearly every waking hour to its growth.

For those that have been following along on our journey, I’m sure you can see the growth we've made since that very first maiden voyage, total newbs to the owner operator world.

Fast forward to the present day, I have brokers blowing up our phones asking for us to haul repeat loads for them due to their experience with our customer service and overall kick ass work relationships we’ve developed.

The 2 oldest kids are adults and off in the world doing their thing, while the youngest is incredibly independent at 12 years old…

Here comes the irony…

We plan, God and the universe laugh.

I’m 38, Daryl is 46…We’ve been together for 11 years…And in all that time, it was sort of decided for us that we were done with family expansion, thanks to multiple health problems of mine.

I have only 1 ovary, hormonal issues out the wazoo and have been considered infertile for most of my child bearing years…I grew to accept it, and had immense appreciation for being able to have Drake. He was and has alway been my miracle baby, my gift….

So now, after starting a business, believing that we were on our way to planning our working retirement years and life on the road after Drake reaches the point in his life where he’d be leaving the nest, we were bestowed with another completely unexpected miracle and gift…

Remember our Vegas trip in March???

Apparently what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas LOL Literally thought I was going into perimenopause, but nope!!!

We are happy to announce the expected arrival of Baby Rodriguez-Selby sometime in early December of this year!

I'm personally pretty much an open book when it comes to my health, rather it be mental health, physical health, emotional health, relationship health....I keeps it real if you haven't noticed over the last year lol

That being said, I’m considered very high risk with this pregnancy (yay for -GASP- advanced "geriatric" maternal age , diabetes, and history of emergency C-section due to pre-eclampsia), so needless to say we will be taking every precaution to ensure safe momma and baby.

This is why we’ve also waited until my 2nd trimester (which I'm happy to say I'm 15 weeks today) to make any big public announcements.

We've decided against learning the gender until "Cletus the Fetus" (as Daryl has excitedly named the baby) decides to make "their" way into the world on their own time (that's the goal anyway...That will be a whole other post in the near future). This is, afterall, one of life’s last remaining surprises!

The good news is I’ve been given the go ahead to keep working on the truck throughout the pregnancy in between appointments, as long as I’m feeling comfortable to do so! So now I can document not only our adventures on the road, but also my already expanding waist size LOL

I've got the summer booked solid running OTR with Daryl lol And it would be quite the fight to pull me off this truck and trailer I’ve grown so fond of spending time on.

We've been so incredibly thankful for the support during the birth of our little company and our amazing journey thus far!

We hope you continue to join us while we take on the birth of a different kind!
