On to Scottsdale...

Welp.... Virago Transport LLC is BACK in CO (Grand Junction to be precise) Thankfully it was just for a quick stop to catch some shut eye on our way to Scottsdale, but alas...

Yesterday was brought to you by "Holy Crap High Winds, Batman" and thank goodness for sugar free caffeine drinks!

Y'all these men and women, professionals drivers, don't get nearly enough credit for the dangers they face rolling down the road!

Let me set the scene...

So we're booking it to Evansville, WY to pick up our load that I described yesterday... y'all these winds through the area were 40-60mph and blowing HARD! One might think, no big deal, just a little gusts, right? Absolutely not! It took everything in Daryl to keep us from toppling over into the ditch or into another vehicle the gusts hit so hard. I literally couldn't take pictures (hanging out the window in my true favorite form) because it would throw off the pressure and cause us to slide all over the road Being that high up makes it super tippy! I was in awe of how much attention to detail, reliance on his 14 year driving experience, and sheer guts it took him to keep us shiny side up and rubber side down! I would have had us blown off in the ditch in a heartbeat

So the rest of the night was spend racing his hours of service clock and our fuel gage...We were NOT fueling up until after midnight (because fuel prices dropped after midnight) and if we fueled before midnight the payment would hit our account to that handy dandy fuel card I talked about last week! (If that makes no sense, go back through my posts and read up! It's a doozy)

So yeah...We tested out how Obsidian handled pressure, and she performed beautifully! She's such a good iron horse!

Over 650 miles put in, rolled in to Grand Junction, CO just after midnight on E (empty on fuel and exhausted) and slept like the dead!

We'll be heading out here in a bit once his hours set to roll!
