Our first road service call

Oh Monday, how you make my eyes roll...

Been a bit since a post has been made about Virago Transport LLC (my apologies, it's been balls to the wall crazy) but today deserves an honorable mention lol

Things have been super busy (good thing) in a crap market (bad thing), but we are still alive and kicking and almost 6 months old!

I have Daryl Selby out in Oregon running some decently paying loads, stretching his legs and getting out of the area.

So far we've managed to escape (knock on wood) any major mechanical issues (again knock on wood) as this is always a "when" not "if" thing, but today came the "when" came a knockin'...

Setting the scene... We are working with a brand new broker so we have to set the tone of our business relationship (yay fun stuff), I'm in a meeting for a job I do on the side, working with Drake on his homeschooling, everyday Monday stuff. I get a call from Daryl (who is on his way to his pick up after a delivery this morning) reaching out to let me know he's blown a steer tire and is literally just down the road from his destination

Obviously the first question and concern is whether or not he's okay and then if there is any additional damage to the truck. Thankfully he wasn't traveling at speed, is safe and the truck (other than the steer tire) is intact. That could have been catastrophic had he been traveling along the highway.

The learning experience continues for me at the Virago Transport command center as I go into action searching for a mobile roadside repair service within the area to help get him rolling into his next pickup appointment and communicating with the brokers on status updates. My friggin' heart sank as I started making the calls to get price quotes...Y'all...We are sooo in the wrong business lol Roadside mobile repair is where the money is at. I was in the process of mentally preparing to sell my first born off for payment (I kid I kid lol)...But these prices, y'all....Crazy insane.

Thankfully one of the over priced places gave me the information for a smaller company that would be closer in proximity and wouldn't have Daryl shut down for the whole day... The price still sucks, not gonna lie, but it is $500 less than what we were potentially looking at, and they had him fitted with a new steer in less than 2.5hrs.

The broker was very impressed with our communication and said thus far his experience has been fantastic....SCORE!!!

So yeah...Monday's y'all...Kicked my ass today LOL
