Portland, part 2

Portland, OR has been good to Virago Transport LLC this week!

We were fortunate enough to meet up with Daryl's elementary school classmate and my new friend Cathleen Shaughnessy McGrew ! She treated us to an amazing dinner at a restaurant on the water called Beaches last night and gave us a tour around Vancouver (got us out of the truck for a bit which was fantastic ). Thank you so much for your hospitality! Anytime you're in Fort Worth let us know and we'll return the favor!

We successfully unloaded the glass of terror (not going to lie that load had me shaking in my boots nervous as hell!) After offloading the foreman said we were 1 piece short on the order to which I replied "the hell we are, y'all need to count that again!" We weren't short of course, but they sure had me all ready to defend our honor They ain't coming between us and that mortgage and truck payment LOL.

Great news! We are booked for our next load headed to Loveland, CO in the morning taking machinery used to build oil tanks in a refinery. Booked the load with a sweet Kansas gal who swore she worked with us before and said she's heard good things about Virago Transport....(I've never talked to this woman before today or booked with this particular broker but if she is convinced she knows us and has good reviews I'm not going to burst her bubble!) I'll be requesting an invitation to Christmas dinner.

I'm snapping pictures of all the obscure, vintage and unique rigs I come across (I'm totally living for the one decorated for Halloween ). I've been hyperfixated on water pictures on this run (the scenery has just been spectacular!).

So interesting story from last night's truck stop sagas... We headed into the truck stop to use the facilities after our amazing dinner and I come walking out of the bathroom to find Daryl surrounded by security guards. I'm thinking what in the world is going on?!? literally left him alone for like 10 minutes while I cleaned up for the night lol Come to find out, Daryl caught a vagrant trying to steal a power inverter (and not a cheap one by the way) while he was waiting on me and the security guards were able to retrieve the merchandise and review the cameras to see the act occur and bust the dude! They offered freebies for his assistance, of course he turned them down and said a thanks was more than enough repayment (that's just Daryl if ya know him ).

This afternoon/evening will be spent doing paperwork, paying for over priced laundry and cleaning out the truck to make it more livable and less funky after day 2 of nothing more than bird baths in the restroom due to long hours and short bouts of sleep!

Here's a photo dump of pics I've snapped along the way for the last 2 days!

Y'all have a great evening!
