Smokey drive through Ohio

Good morning from smoky Columbus OH! (Thanks Canada )

Yesterday we traveled through Illinois, where apparently it was mini blitz traffic stop day! We saw nearly 50 stops with more than 75-100 law enforcement vehicles out from St. Louis to the border of Indiana! They had every kind of vehicle out there patrolling across I-70 sans bike cops! It was the most stressful thing lol Remember my post about the height of this Tonka toy we have the on back?!?

After we made it through all that nonsense, on top of slow down after slow down due to one lane highways from construction, we barley made it to our pick up of this tiny forklift. Thankfully the shipper was cool enough to help us out and load up quickly so we didn't lose any more hours in the day.

Stopped for a quick shower, then continued on towards our anticipated stop for the night. Crossed paths with Chris "Repo" Adams on the road from Brothers of the Highway (love & respect )!

We settled in to a rest stop for the evening and watched the local trash panda and her babies rummage through the night (we are exciting people, folks).

This week has been a hard press! Drive 600+ miles, shut down for 10 hours, up and at 'em again for another 600....2500 miles in 5 days makes for one hell of a long week! Especially when you have to abide by hours of service, crappy inconsiderate drivers all around, and then a full days trip of hopped up law enforcement looking to have a profitable day!

We offload the forklift this afternoon in Buffalo NY, then will continue onto our final drop of the Tonka toy in Kingston NH...Just a couple more days and we can finally get a good nights rest
